Websites

Websites

After I got my first computer, I was constantly exploring the internet. Then one day the question popped into my head, “How do people make websites?” I wanted to answer that question for myself. After watching a few YouTube videos, and googling some things I figured it out. It was HTML, and CSS. Coding languages. Something that was brand new to me. I messed around for a little bit creating HTML documents that had colorful text, pictures, and cool fonts. Then I left it at that. Not too much later in my S.T.E.M. class in the 8th grade we started to learn coding. Specifically HTML, and CSS. I already had some experience so I was pretty decent at it. In class we used a website called¬†Codecademy¬†that taught us coding. I was working on Codecademy even while I was at home. I just wanted to get really good at it, which I eventually did after a few weeks. Then my friend’s Mom had asked me if I was interested in making a website for her husband’s work. I was a little nervous since I’ve never done anything like that before. After weeks of working on this website I was finally done. It turned out decent for me being 13, and it being my first website. After that I just started learning more and more on how to make websites. I discovered a few website makers such as WordPress that made making websites easier. I soon needed to know how much I should charge if I was going to make websites more often. I looked at what other people were charging, and I thought it was a total rip-off. So my goal was to make websites at affordable prices, for you ordinary person. That is still my goal today.
